Gio, short for Giovanni, is a rescued 8 year old pomeranian. Let me tell you a little about Gio. Gio once lived a life outside- rain, sunshine, high temperatures, low temperatures - he was stuck outside no matter how hot or cold it was that day. He was tossed food every day, however he shared his pen with another dog. After a year ( a year at the minimum that we know of), he was rescued from his jail cell. He was 3.5 pounds while his cage mate was 7 pounds. Though he is a small pomeranian, he should weigh between 5 and 6 pounds. 1 and a half pounds is a lot for his little self! We noticed too that his teeth were in terrible shape and his fur was matted. We then noticed the seizures he was having. All that time with no medical treatment! After grooming and a few visits to the vet, Gio is doing great! He is now 5 pounds, with many less seizures, and living like a king. He loves playing with his toys, going outside to sniff, eating greenies, and snoozing in the bed. In 2010, he won 2nd place in the costume contest for the Lazy Dog Cafe. He's our little winner!
